Universal Hospitals Group (UHG), a sub-regional dealer in hospital equipment, has donated to the children’s ward of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital at Ridge in Accra.
The gesture was part of their Heritage Month activities for the month of March.
The donation consisted of essential medical consumables, including blood-giving sets, paraffin gauze, bandages, cotton wool, needles, and syringes, to support the hospital’s daily operations.
The company presented parcels of gifts to the children to brighten their day and create moments of joy during their hospital stay.
The support was aimed at easing operational pressures while also contributing to the well-being of patients and carers, with a series of meaningful, people-centred initiatives to strengthen community ties and celebrate national identity.
Activities during the month included employee recognition, healthcare-focused engagements, and civic and national education programmes designed to promote unity, pride, and shared responsibility.
The items were presented by the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Frederick Amissah, and supported by some senior management members, Mr. Eric Mensah Bonsu and Ms. Constance Amankrah-Yeboah, who conducted rounds to interact with children on admission and their caregivers.
The visit formed part of UHG’s broader Ghana Month outreach, centred on giving back to society and supporting vulnerable groups, particularly children receiving medical care.
The outreach was guided by the belief that healthcare extends beyond clinical treatment to include empathy, human connection, and emotional support.
During the visit, UHG staff spent time with the children, sharing moments of encouragement, laughter, and reassurance. These interactions brought comfort and positivity to the wards, complementing the medical care provided by healthcare professionals
Speaking during the visit, CEO Frederick Amissah emphasised the importance of placing people at the heart of healthcare delivery:

The engagement also provided an opportunity for UHG leadership to express appreciation for their continued service to the community.

Receiving the donation, the hospital administrator, Mr Philip AfetiKorto, thanked the management of the company for the gesture.
He promised to put the items to good use to serve their purpose.
