The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has advised Ghanaians planning to visit Senegal to vaccinate against yellow fever, DPT, measles and hepatitis A and B.

This is in accordance with recommendations by the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad in Dakar.

The purpose is to protect the health and safety of travellers; however, the presentation of a vaccination certificate for these diseases is not mandatory for entry into Senegalese territory.

In a statement, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry urged citizens to take note, ensuring they are medically prepared for any trip to the country.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana wishes to inform Ghanaians travelling to Senegal of the latest entry requirements for foreigners…This information is being circulated to enhance the health and safety of Ghanaian travellers.”

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of all Ghanaians travelling abroad and encourages compliance with all entry and health requirements of destination countries.”
