Veep Joins Nana Mprah to mark Silver Jubilee

Vice  President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman joined the people of Krachi in the Oti Region to celebrate a major traditional milestone. The occasion marked the Silver Jubilee of the Krachi Wura, who is celebrating 25 years on the stool.

The grand durbar was filled with pomp and pageantry, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Krachi people through traditional music, dance, and colourful displays.

The Vice President, who was on a working tour of the Volta and Oti Regions, commended Nana Mprah Besemuna the Third for his dedication to development and unity within the Krachi Traditional Area.

Vice President urged traditional leaders to promote peace in their communities, stressing that stability remains key to attracting investment and national growth.

She also called on the youth and all stakeholders to support efforts to reset the country and make Ghana a better place for all.

In his address, the Krachi Wura expressed gratitude to his people for their unwavering support over the past 25 years.

He highlighted key achievements, including his role in facilitating the Krachi–Dambai ferry service and contributing to the creation of the Oti Region.

He also noted efforts to attract investment into the area, leading to improvements in water supply, education, and healthcare infrastructure.

Krachiwura called on government to prioritise development in the Oti Region, describing it as one of the country’s newly created regions in need of critical infrastructure.

He also appealed for the speedy completion of road projects linking the Oti and Bono Regions to enhance transportation and economic activity.

The chief further commended former President for ongoing efforts to construct a bridge over the Oti River.

The event brought together chiefs and queen mothers from across the Bono, Eastern, Northern, and Volta Regions, as well as the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs.

The celebration ended with renewed calls for unity, peace, and accelerated development across the Oti Region and beyond.
