Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has launched the Students Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Programme at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
The flagship initiative is designed to nurture a new generation of student entrepreneurs and transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.
SEED builds on the Adwumawura Programme and reflects President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to tackling youth unemployment and empowering young people, the Vice President said.
The initiative is being implemented by the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), under the leadership of Mr. Eric Adjei, in partnership with the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
According to the Vice President, the programme underscores government’s drive to place opportunity and enterprise at the centre of youth development.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang commended the Ministry of Education, the Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment, NEIP, and all partners for their collaboration and dedication.
She congratulated the first cohort of participants and urged them to make full use of the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The SEED Programme will provide students with training, mentorship, and startup support to develop viable businesses while still in school.
