Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at the Energy Ministry
Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has paid a working visit to the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, where she reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable, reliable and sustainable power supply for the country.
During the visit, the Vice President engaged with management and staff of the Ministry to assess ongoing programmes and challenges within the energy sector.
She underscored the critical role of energy in national development, industrial growth and improved living standards, assuring that the government remains focused on policies that will strengthen power generation, transmission and distribution.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang emphasised that sustaining power supply is a key priority of the government’s broader economic agenda, noting that access to reliable electricity is essential for job creation and productivity.
She encouraged officials to continue working diligently to address bottlenecks in the sector while exploring innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
Minister for Energy, Dr John Jinapor, briefed the Vice President on current projects, reforms and strategies aimed at improving efficiency and expanding access to power across the country.
He also highlighted efforts being made to ensure energy security and long-term sustainability.
The Vice President commended the Ministry for its work so far and urged closer collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the government’s vision of a resilient and dependable energy sector for national growth.
