Ghanaian actress and socialite Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has responded to fresh online criticism suggesting she faked receiving a brand-new Mitsubishi car from her partner.
The actress, who gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday, March 16, 2025, recently made headlines after photos surfaced of her celebrating with a new car allegedly gifted by her baby daddy.
The images showed Poloo visibly excited as she posed with the vehicle and proudly held up the car keys.
However, her joyful announcement was quickly met with skepticism from some social media users. Many referred to a past interview in 2022, where Akuapem Poloo confessed to borrowing a friend’s car and posting it as her own for attention.
This previous admission prompted some to question the legitimacy of her latest claim.
In response to the mounting speculation, Poloo addressed the issue during a phone interview with blogger Zionfelix.
She denied any form of deception and maintained that the vehicle was genuinely a gift from her partner.
She stressed that her happiness was sincere, and the gesture meant a lot to her, especially during such a significant time in her life.
Poloo also urged the public to stop linking her current joy to past mistakes, adding that her gratitude shouldn’t be mistaken for attention-seeking.
Despite the backlash, Akuapem Poloo remains firm in her stance, stating that she simply wanted to celebrate a special moment, not stage a publicity stunt.
