Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has caught the attention of Ghanaians after being spotted using a trotro, Ghana’s popular public transport system.

The video comes shortly after his outstanding performances in Ghana’s recent 2026 World Cup qualifying matches, where he kept clean sheets in both fixtures.
The Black Stars dominated Chad with a 5-0 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21, 2025, before securing a 3-0 win against Madagascar on March 25, 2025.
These victories have propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 15 points, ahead of Comoros (12 points) and Madagascar (10 points).
Following his impressive displays, many fans expected the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper to embrace a more lavish lifestyle, making his use of public transportation a surprising revelation.
While some social media users questioned why a national team player would opt for a trotro, others applauded Asare for his humility and financial discipline, arguing that he is making smart choices to secure his future and provide for his family.
