(Video) Cina Soul Fears for Her Life After Big Akwes Threatens to “Kill and Drink Her Blood” on TV

Cina Soul has voiced serious concern for her personal safety following a horrifying incident on live television involving Kumawood actor Big Akwes. The singer, born Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, took to social media to express her distress after Big Akwes made chilling threats against her during a segment aired on Bryt TV.

In a game segment titled Kiss–Marry–Kill, Big Akwes went far beyond the bounds of entertainment. Instead of treating the game lightly, he chose Cina Soul for the “kill” option—and went on to describe, in disturbing detail, how he would summon her spiritually, stab her multiple times, and drink her blood.

This gruesome outburst didn’t sit well with Cina Soul, who remained silent initially but eventually broke her silence on X (formerly Twitter), where she tagged authorities including the Ghana Police Service, the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, and MP Sam George. She stated that while she had previously avoided responding to Big Akwes’ earlier attacks, this time she felt “genuinely threatened.”

Cina Soul called on regulators to take action against the normalisation of such violent speech on mainstream platforms. “This kind of rhetoric has no place on our screens,” she urged, highlighting the danger of letting such content go unchecked.

Her post triggered an outpouring of support from fans and the wider public, with many calling out both the television network and the actor for promoting hate speech and failing to uphold basic broadcast ethics.

This is not the first time Big Akwes has targeted Cina Soul publicly. Just two months ago, in April 2025, he harshly criticised her appearance in a dance video tied to her Did I Lie? album, calling her “attention-seeking” in a segment aired on Max TV. While the station later issued an apology acknowledging the inappropriate nature of those remarks, Big Akwes himself refused to retract his comments, instead telling critics to “go back and analyse what he meant.”

The latest episode has intensified calls for stricter content regulation and consequences for media figures who use their platforms to incite or glorify violence.
