A catfish farm owner has shared a jaw-dropping encounter online after a supposed customer allegedly made away with a stash of fish—hidden in the trunk of his car.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the farmer narrated how a man visited his pond under the guise of buying fish. However, things took a shocking turn when the buyer was caught trying to sneak out extra fish without paying for them.
While recounting the experience, the farmer explained that the man acted like a genuine customer, even engaging in normal conversation. Suspicion arose when he noticed something off about the visitor’s car. Upon closer inspection, he opened the trunk and discovered multiple catfish stashed inside, allegedly stolen from the pond.
The video showed the stunned farmer expressing his disbelief, pointing out the fish hidden beneath the vehicle’s boot cover.
The incident has triggered an outpouring of reactions on social media. Many users shared their sympathy and frustration, especially those with experience in fish farming, revealing that such thefts during sales are far too common.
Some noted how dishonest buyers often manipulate scales—using magnets or light-weight bowls—to cheat sellers. Others condemned the growing trend of greed and deceit, even during tough economic times.
The clip has since gone viral, serving as a cautionary tale for business owners to remain vigilant—even when dealing with seemingly trustworthy customers.
