The King of the Gonja Kingdom has imposed a ban on the Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor, from visiting any palace in Gonjaland.
This decision comes after the MP was accused of showing disrespect to the traditional authority and the King.
According to sources, the MP’s actions were seen as a threat to the peace and unity in Gonjaland, leading to widespread discontent among the people.
The King’s ban is aimed at addressing this issue and maintaining the dignity of the traditional institution.
The youth of Gonjaland have also expressed their support for the King’s decision, citing instances of the MP’s disregard for traditional authority.
The King has warned that any chief who disobeys this order will face consequences.
Recently, Hon Jinapor who is also the Minister of lands and Natural Resources rubbished speculations that he is interferring in chieftaincy matters in Damongo. He urged the public to ignore such statements.
He described himself as a bona fide Gonja Prince who has high regard for the chietanincy institution.
“As a bona fide Gonja Prince, I continue to have high regard for the revered chieftaincy institution , the overlord of the Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bi-kunuto Jewu Soale and all other chiefs for that matter.”
