The leader of New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar has challenged CitiNews’ Umaru Sanda to ask other presidential aspirants how much they spend on campaigns like he is being asked.
In a interview, Umaru sought to find out how much he had spent on campaign billboards.
Cheddar said, “Again you are into figures, asking me how much… all of that, I dont need to tell you how much I invest.”
When told that that information is not for Umaru but Ghanaians, he continued, “I don’t need to tell Ghanaians how much I invested in my campaigns. I also do not need to respond to you how much I invested in my campaigns.”
“When you had the chance to ask some of the presidents and ex-presidents, you could not ask this question… and you asking the businessman who has decided to go into politics… I just feel it is not for this interview. I feel it is more of interrogation.”
“I am not the type to be interrogated. I will be proud if you ask other presidents.”
The New Force leader further indicated that the ‘Save Ghana Fund’ which seeks to solicit funds for his political campaign from citizens will however be ‘visible’ to ensure accountability. According to him, citizens will know how much is in the fund and how funds are used.
