As excitement builds for the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Kofi Kinaata has sparked laughter online with his playful appeal to fans.
The celebrated highlife musician, who is in the running for three major categories, took to social media to rally support in a humorous and light-hearted video.
Kinaata, whose nominations include Highlife Artiste of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Record of the Year, shared that he’s determined to win all three—not just for recognition, but to finally decorate the bare sections of his trophy cabinet.
In the same video, he added another twist of comedy by revealing a personal “issue” involving his mother.
The artist explained that he named one of his nominated tracks, Auntie Ama, after her—and now she expects a financial reward if the song earns an award.
The singer joked that despite the award being a plaque without any attached prize money, his mother still wants her cut.
With his blend of charm and wit, the Effiakuma Broken Heart hitmaker has managed to keep fans entertained even before stepping onto the awards stage.
The 2025 TGMA is set to take place tonight, May 10, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
