Ghanaian artist Lamar has just dropped his newest single, ‘Don Jazzy’, which is now available on all major digital platforms.
The track is already creating a buzz, celebrated for its vibrant tribute to the esteemed Nigerian music producer and entrepreneur, Don Jazzy.
The song has an intriguing backstory: Lamar originally composed it as a freestyle two years ago and recorded it on his iPhone notes.
Inspired by Don Jazzy’s influence and his own experiences working from home, Lamar decided to turn it into a fully produced track this year.
“The phrase ‘don’t like no stress’ reflects my own struggles balancing work and music production, and I wanted to capture that energy,” Lamar explained.
This release is Lamar’s first of 2024 and features a top-tier production quality, thanks to his collaboration with the producer trio Simao, known for their hit ‘Go Bebe’.
Lamar and Simao developed a strong creative bond, resulting in a polished track and a complete EP within a short span. Simao’s expertise in Afrobeats production, particularly in Belgium, greatly contributed to the song’s success.
Looking ahead, Lamar is eager to continue his musical journey, hinting at additional releases and potentially an EP later this year.
“I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on after a year of artist development,” he said.
Following a brief break, Lamar, who is recognized for hits like ‘Gbe Su Momi’, ‘Aunty Julie’, and Trust her Kind’, is poised to reassert his presence in the music industry.
