New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for Aowin Constituency, Abanga Yakubu Fuseini, recently joined a local family in their home to help pound fufu, a staple Ghanaian dish. While some have praised his efforts as a heartwarming display of humility, others have expressed skepticism and frustration.
The viral video shows Fuseini actively participating in the traditional cooking process, pounding the fufu with skill and enthusiasm.
However, social media users have responded with a mix of reactions.
“When will politicians get tired of this modus operandi?” asked one user, questioning the sincerity of Fuseini’s actions.
Another user, who claimed to be from the same hometown, expressed disappointment, saying, “He doesn’t drive me crazy, but the youth following him do… future leaders indeed.”
Some users compared the situation to Western politics, stating, “Africa will always be Africa… whiteman will never do this for votes, and the truth is, they serve and not the other way round.”
Others pointed out the contrast between the politician’s actions and the deprived state of the community, saying, “Look at what the deprived people are doing in the background… the very reason you should vote against him.”
A few users were more sarcastic, saying, “Ah, but format pass oo, or them still dey use scam people.”
Despite the mixed reactions, Fuseini’s gesture has undoubtedly generated significant attention and discussion in the run-up to the elections.
