Akwasi Yeboah, a 30-year-old taxi driver, died on Sunday at Happy Guesthouse in Akweley. According to eyewitnesses, Yeboah was found unresponsive in one of the guesthouse rooms.
Investigations reveal that Yeboah had been in a relationship with a corn dough seller at Kasoa New Market, who had been taking money from him without reciprocating his romantic advances. The lady finally agreed, after being pressured by him, to have sexual relations. He also took some aphrodisiacs in preparation for their meeting.
On Sunday, the driver informed his wife and two children that he had to go somewhere for a job, and despite his wife’s disapproval, he left.
The two checked into Happy Guesthouse, where the incident occurred.
Whilst in bed with the lady, he suddenly lost consciousness and the sidechick rushed out the room to seek the guesthouse manager’s help.
The manager of the guesthouse, Solomon Ofori, and a guest attempted to revive Yeboah by pouring water on him, but he opened his eyes and closed them again. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to reports, Yeboah’s wife refused to come to the hospital when she was informed of her husband’s admission, and his girlfriend has gone into hiding due to threats from unknown sources.
The cause of death is still unknown and is currently under investigation by the authorities.
