Ghanaian business mogul Osei Kwame Despite warmed hearts over the weekend after a chance encounter with young dancer Afronita and her team at the airport in Kumasi.
The meeting took place at the Prempeh International Airport on Sunday, April 12, 2026, when Afronita and members of the AfroStar Kids Academy were preparing to return to Accra.
The group had travelled from Accra to Kumasi to perform at the ongoing AshantiFest.
In a TikTok video shared by Plus 1 TV, Afronita’s mother confirmed to Despite that the children had successfully completed their performance and were heading back home.
Shortly after, Afronita approached the businessman and greeted him warmly.
Moved by the encounter, Despite reached into his handbag, counted a sum of money in dollars, and handed it over to Afronita and the young dancers.
Although the exact amount remains undisclosed, the gesture appeared substantial, as seen in the video.
Afronita and the children expressed visible excitement and gratitude, smiling as they received the gift from the renowned businessman.
The moment has since gained traction online, with many praising Despite for his generosity and support for young talents in the creative arts.
