It was the final day of a three-day programme at Believers Worship Center in Pokuase Katapor Estate, Accra, and this drew a massive crowd of over 25,000 attendees, leading to severe traffic congestion and disruptions in the area.
The event, which began on Thursday, saw a significant influx of worshippers, resulting in massive human and vehicular gridlock. The situation worsened yesterday, causing frustration among residents and road users. The scarcity of transportation in the area was exacerbated by the congestion, with some drivers taking advantage of the situation by overcharging desperate passengers.
The event’s massive turnout and resulting traffic chaos have raised concerns about the need for better traffic management and planning for large gatherings in the city.
Despite the challenges, the worshippers remained undeterred, eager to participate in the culmination of the three-day programme.
Reverend Stephen Adom Kyei Dua, Founder and General Overseer of Believers Worship Center, also known as Second Chance or Philadelphia Church, has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art church auditorium with a massive capacity of 25,000.
Located in Pokuase Katapor Estate, Accra, this impressive structure now holds the distinction of being the largest church auditorium in Ghana, surpassing the Perez Dome’s capacity of 14,000.
