An old video of Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has emerged online, reigniting political tensions.
The footage shows the outspoken politician throwing bold challenges at former President John Dramani Mahama.
The clip comes amid mounting criticism surrounding Wontumi’s Akonta Mining company, which many claim is causing more harm than good to ordinary Ghanaians.
Despite these growing concerns, Wontumi appeared unfazed in the video.
In the recording, he directed strong words at Mahama, asserting that the former president should be intimidated by his presence.
He declared himself unstoppable and insisted that Mahama lacked the power to interfere with his mining operations.
Taking things a step further, Wontumi dared Mahama to confront him directly, even suggesting the former president bring military personnel along.
Still, he maintained that such an effort would be futile, implying that not even armed forces could disrupt his plans or influence his actions.
The resurfaced footage has triggered heated discussions online, with many debating the boldness of Wontumi’s rhetoric and its implications for the political climate and environmental concerns surrounding mining in Ghana.
