The statement indicated that the suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Gabriel Dimson, who had accompanied his mother and a friend to the hospital.

“On 18th February 2026 at about 7:28 p.m., the Security guard, who was on duty at the Labour Ward, was assaulted by an 18-year-old male, Gabriel Dimson, who had accompanied his mother and a friend to the Hospital.

“The suspect was directed by the security officer to move to the reception area, as it was unauthorized for visitors to stand at the entrance of the ward outside approved visiting hours,” the statement said.

It further stated that the suspect resisted the guard’s attempts to enforce the rules, allegedly pushed him to the ground, and physically assaulted him, causing him to lose consciousness.

“The suspect refused to comply with the directive and proceeded to push the officer to the ground and physically assaulted him. The officer fell unconscious and was immediately attended to by doctors on duty. He remains on admission and is responding to treatment,” it added.
