Watch as fuel tanker catches fire after accident on Nsawam-Accra Road

A fuel tanker explosion reportedly caused a devastating fire at the Teacher Mante stretch on the Nsawam-Accra Road, engulfing at least four other vehicles and burning them beyond recognition.

According to preliminary reports on social media, the tanker caught fire in the early hours of Saturday, February 14, 2026, after colliding with one of the affected vehicles.

The impact is believed to have triggered the explosion, leading to a rapidly spreading blaze that consumed nearby vehicles.

Videos circulating online show dozens of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service working to put out the remnants of the fire as smoke billowed into the sky.

The charred remains of the tanker and the vehicles were visible at the scene.

The full extent of casualties and property damage remains unclear.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on injuries or fatalities as investigations continue.
