Former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has expressed concern over the omission of some delegates’ names from the voter register in the constituency.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Hawa Koomson revealed that the issue dates back to 2023.

“I need not fight over it. If it is corrected, the delegates will cast their votes for Dr. Bawumia. This issue happened in 2023, and two of the affected people are my church members… They weren’t allowed to vote. So, we are surprised it has happened again,” she remarked.
Hawa Koomson further noted that the problem has been reported to the National Headquarters, but no corrective action has been taken.
“We’ve reported it, but they didn’t correct it. In 2023, I stood here, made noise, and called the committee secretary to fix it, but they didn’t,” she added.
Over 211,000 delegates are expected to take part in the presidential primary to elect the party’s flagbearer.
