There’s a rhythm to joining the Black Stars—and it starts with a dance. As tradition demands, every new player must entertain the squad with a solo performance, a rite of passage that blends camaraderie with culture. This week, it was Derrick Arthur Kohn and Kwasi Sibo’s turn to step up.

Kohn, the German-born left-back from Union Berlin, earned his first call-up to Ghana’s senior national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Having previously represented Germany at youth level, the 26-year-old has now pledged his future to Ghana. His initiation dance, performed in front of teammates and officials, marked the beginning of his journey in the national colours.

Joining him was Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo, who entered camp as a late replacement for the injured Ibrahim Sulemana. Sibo, 27, has been in stellar form in Spain, helping Oviedo secure promotion to La Liga and starting all three matches this season. His dance was equally spirited, drawing laughter and applause from the squad.
