Frimpong Yaw Francis, known to Asante Kotoko fans as Nana Pooley, tragically lost his life after being stabbed following the team’s 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC.
The incident occurred after a violent scuffle broke out at Nana Koramansah Park in Nsoatre, Bono Region, on February 2, 2025.
Nana Pooley, who was receiving treatment at the hospital, was later confirmed dead in an official statement by Kotoko.
Today marked his final funeral rites. After the performance of traditional rites in the morning, his body, placed in a coffin, was transported by ambulance for burial.
Before departing, the ambulance made a symbolic round of the Baba Yara Stadium, where the event was held, before finally leaving for his final resting place.
