A prominent Nigerian businessman, reportedly the owner of over 30 filling stations and several shopping complexes across Lagos Island, is under fire on social media over disturbing allegations of family neglect.
The claims surfaced in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @d_LegalEagle, who disclosed that the man in question is her uncle. According to her, despite his enormous wealth, the man has failed to provide basic support for his own children and wife.
The woman alleged that the children are left to fend for themselves, running a POS business outside one of his fuel stations under intense heat, while their father lives comfortably off his massive fortune. She claimed the man has repeatedly denied them access to quality education and even fired them from positions within his own businesses.
Further allegations include giving his wife a tiny shop “barely the size of a toilet” in one of his large shopping plazas. The user said she had to intervene when the man reportedly attempted to evict his wife from that small space.
She also recounted years of witnessing abuse, including physical violence against the wife and the emotional trauma inflicted on the children. One of her most painful revelations was the loss of her favorite cousin, whom she says died while struggling to survive independently after being cut off by his father.
The post quickly went viral, sparking an outpouring of reactions online. While many condemned the alleged actions of the businessman, some users speculated that there could be more to the situation, including cultural or spiritual reasons behind his behavior.
The story has reignited conversations about parental responsibility, emotional abuse within families, and the dangers of wealth not being equitably shared among loved ones.
As of now, the man at the center of these claims has not responded to the allegations.
