We’ll Preserve Bob Pinodo’s Legacy- Tourism Minister

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Gomashie, has committed to preserving the legacy of late music icon Bob Pinodo.

He is remembered as a pioneering figure whose artistry contributed significantly to the growth and international recognition of Ghana’s creative arts industry.

During a courtesy visit by the bereaved family, the Minister emphasised that Pinodo’s contributions to Ghana’s cultural landscape would be remembered and celebrated.

She stressed that it is the collective responsibility of both family and nation to preserve and promote his legacy.

The Minister noted that the urgency of documenting and safeguarding the stories, works, and relics of veteran musicians while they are still alive, lamenting missed opportunities to capture such histories.

Expressing condolences, the Minister encouraged the family to remain strong.

The visit was used to formally notify the Ministry of his passing and announce the funeral arrangements.

The family was led by the Musicians Union of Ghana President, Mr. Bessa Simons, who described the late musician as a global ambassador of Ghanaian music.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
