The Western North Regional office of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has led a team of stakeholders, including the Police MTTD, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to embark on a major road safety enforcement exercise aimed at ensuring safer roads for all users in the region.

The Acting Regional Head, Oheneba Acheampong, in an interview, indicated that although the region reduced reported crashes from 294 in 2024 to 273 in 2025, injuries and fatalities continue to rise. He attributed the trend to overloading, speeding, and the rampant disregard for road traffic regulations and safety measures by some motorists.
