Dafeamekpor has responded to Gabby otchere Darko over his recent comment

The Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has cautioned that Ghana’s anti-corruption laws apply equally to individuals in both public and private capacities.

He has stressed that engaging in corruption leaves no one beyond the reach of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

In a response directed at New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko in a social media post on January 22, 2026, Dafeamekpor said the law establishing the OSP makes it clear that claims of acting as a private individual do not offer protection from prosecution.

His comments come amid public discourse involving Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Founder of the Africa Prosperity Network, who has stated that, despite being an NPP member, he has never held any political office while his party was in power.

“I never considered myself a politician. I was a strategist. I have never held a political office,” Otchere-Darko has said in a recent interview.
