The First Deputy Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, has revealed that she rejected a ministerial appointment in the current government in order to concentrate on her leadership duties in the legislature.
The Ada MP explained that she has served in the Executive before, but has since realised that she is more passionate about parliamentary work, where she can directly represent and respond to the needs of her constituents. She emphasised that her role in Parliament allows her to contribute more effectively to national development through law-making and oversight responsibilities.
Cudjoe-Ghansah noted that serving in Parliament also provides a more practical connection with the people she represents, which she finds personally fulfilling.
She previously served as Minister of State in 2013 during President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
