Veteran actress Abena Achiaa Julie Juu has disclosed that she moved to the UK more than 10 years ago in order to be with her family and find comfort following the unexpected death of her spouse, Nana Bosomprah.
Julie Juu revealed in an interview that her original intention was to travel to Ghana to see her children who were living overseas, but that she ended up in the UK where she received the love and support she needed to get over her loss.
She said, ” Following my husband’s death, I felt very lonely, and my children’s company brought me the companionship and solace I badly needed.”
Julie Juu highlighted that she has discovered a new sense of purpose and belonging with her family, which makes her decision to remain in the UK worthwhile.
“If I were living in Ghana, by now I would have been weak and frail, but my children will take care of me here,” she said, expressing no regrets over her decision to leave the country.
Abena Achiaa Known as the “original slay queen,” Julie Juu was a cast member of Cantata and one of the most recognizable figures of that era.
She was, most people didn’t know, in a relationship with Nana Bosompra, the producer of Akan Drama and other shows in addition to Cantata.
It is rumoured that whilst Julie Juu holds herself as the late Bosompra’s wife, they were not legally married as he had a wife living outside but they were surely a couple before the legendary producer’s death.
