Popular Ghanaian travel vlogger Wode Maya will join American YouTube sensation MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) for a major philanthropic initiative that will see global content creators travel to Ghana to rebuild an entire village.

The announcement was made at the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026, hosted in Dubai by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in partnership with the Varkey Foundation.

The summit also served as the launchpad for the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign, a global social movement aimed at harnessing the influence of digital creators to drive positive actions across communities worldwide.

During the launch, 20 content creators were selected to partner with MrBeast on a large-scale project in Ghana designed to improve essential services.

“We are going to Ghana. There is this village that desperately needs help. We will go there, build a hospital, wells, supply them with water and help them with education.

“I reached out to some of my friends to help push the message even more and inspire others,” he said.

Although the full details of the Ghana project are still being finalised, organisers confirmed that the work will focus on health, water access and learning opportunities for local communities.

Wode Maya, who was among the selected creators, also shared the news on his social media platforms following the summit.

In his posts, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to stand on the same stage with some of the world’s most influential digital creators despite having a comparatively smaller audience.

“Mr Beast & his creator friends including (WodeMaya) will help build an entire village in Ghana but guess who had the smallest YouTube Channel among them?Me of course – only 1.9M,” he wrote.

MrBeast, the most subscribed-to YouTuber in the world, is globally recognised for his philanthropic and content-driven initiatives, including previous campaigns focusing on environmental and humanitarian causes.
