Woman Demands Justice After Govt Bus Wrecks Her Car (Video)

A Lagos woman is demanding justice after her vehicle was wrecked in a disturbing traffic incident involving a government-owned BRT bus at Obalende.

Sharing her ordeal on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the woman, known online as @The_Barr_OluT, said she was returning from work around 6:40 p.m. when the collision occurred. According to her, she was at a red traffic light and began to move only after it turned green—when the unexpected happened.

As she proceeded through the junction, a BRT bus, reportedly moving at high speed, ran across her path and crashed into her car. The impact destroyed the front of her vehicle, including the bumper, headlights, and bonnet. She identified the bus by its plate number: EKY564XY.

Despite eyewitnesses at the scene confirming that her lane had the right of way, the driver allegedly insisted he had done no wrong. She also noted that a civilian was present at the junction, helping direct traffic—yet the crash still happened.

Shaken and frustrated, she recorded footage of the damage and tried to confront the driver, who she claimed not only showed no remorse but mocked her for filming the incident. She expressed disbelief that after working hard for months, she might now have to spend her earnings fixing damage caused by government negligence.

She further alleged that the BRT driver dismissed the situation, pointing to a mere scratch on the bus and suggesting both parties move on. Her attempts to hold him accountable were met with insults, she said, before the driver reportedly drove away from the scene.

Calling on the Lagos State government and Governor Sanwo-Olu to take action, she pleaded for the cost of repairs to be covered and insisted she was ready to present all evidence of the incident in person.

Her post quickly went viral, sparking public outcry and calls for accountability from state authorities and the BRT management.
