The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has denied claims that it spent GH¢9 million on a turkey berries production programme, stressing that no such programme exists under the agency. The clarification comes amid circulating reports alleging that the agency allocated a significant sum to support the cultivation of the crop.

In a statement, the Director of Corporate Affairs at YEA, Suadique Musah, rejected the claims as false and misleading.

He emphasised that the agency has not undertaken any initiative related to turkey berries production, and no payments of that nature have been made.

“No such programme exists at YEA; no such payment was made,” Suadique Musah said, categorically refuting the allegations.

He urged the public to rely only on verified information from official sources.

The agency also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in managing public funds, noting that all its programmes and expenditures are properly documented and subject to scrutiny.

It warned that misinformation like this could undermine public trust in government institutions.

YEA called on media outlets and members of the public to exercise caution in sharing unverified reports.

It reiterated that its focus remains on implementing genuine initiatives that create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth across the country.
