In a meeting with players, technical staff, and management, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Patron of the club, reiterated his unwavering commitment to Asante Kotoko and emphasized the club’s ownership under his stewardship.
Addressing concerns raised by players regarding internal matters, Otumfuo emphasized the need for proper communication channels to address grievances effectively. He reminded the players that they represent not only themselves but also the club, which he personally oversees.
“It’s imperative to recognize that Asante Kotoko is mine. You are playing for me and the club, not just for the coach or management,” Otumfuo asserted. “There are established procedures for addressing issues, and I expect them to be followed diligently.”
Highlighting his proactive efforts to support the team’s needs, Otumfuo emphasized that players must uphold the club’s standards and reputation. He warned against actions that could tarnish the club’s image or hinder players’ professional prospects.
“The success of Asante Kotoko reflects on each of you individually and collectively. Your conduct on and off the field impacts your future careers and opportunities,” Otumfuo stated firmly. “Maintaining discipline and professionalism is non-negotiable.”
Otumfuo reaffirmed his commitment to addressing any legitimate concerns raised by players through the appropriate channels while maintaining the club’s integrity and performance standards.
With 26 games played and 33 points, the squad is in 11th with just three points separating them from 16th place, putting them perilously near to the relegation zone.
