Bernard Mornah has said Frank Davis has no right to warn him
The Lead Convenor of Arise Ghana, Bernard Mornah, has taken a swipe at Frank Davies, lawyer for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, following remarks he believes were directed at him personally.
Recently, Frank Davies, in an interview on JoyNews, cautioned Bernard Mornah against making sweeping allegations about his client, Ken Ofori-Atta, without evidence.
In the interview, Davies reportedly described Bernard Mornah’s comments about the former finance minister as “pedestrian” and indicative of “poor literacy.”
In a recent development, the Arise Ghana convenor on the same media platform on January 21, 2026, has clapped back at the lawyer.
Frank Davies responds to Bernard Mornah’s accusations against Ken Ofori-Atta
According to Bernard Mornah, Frank Davies has no right to caution him over his choice of words.
He explained that if Davies believes his comments have damaged his client’s reputation, he should seek redress in court.
“He doesn’t have any right to warn me about the choice of what I want to say. If he thinks I have committed anything abominable, Frank, you know the way to the courts. That has been your mantra, and the mantra should not change.
“If I have said anything that you think is unacceptable, you represent somebody who, in my opinion, has put your integrity into the gutters,” he said.
Bernard Mornah further questioned the integrity of Frank Davies, accusing him of misleading the country about the health condition of the former finance minister.
According to him, the lawyer has no integrity to protect and should be ashamed of what he described as attempts to mislead Ghanaians.
“You were telling the whole world that your client was sick and that the reason he was not coming to Ghana was because of ill health, and that when he was treated, he would return to Ghana. You should be ashamed and worried that your client is now well and is choosing other routes not to be in Ghana.
“You are not concerned about the reputational issues. Go and review your various media interviews across the country, where you proclaimed that when your client became well, he would return. Even in your latest responses to the OSP and other institutions, you stated that the reason your client was not in Ghana was because of ill health,” he stated.

He further questioned the legal practitioner over whether Ken Ofori-Atta, following his arrest and detention by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), is currently receiving medical treatment.
“Now that he is in detention at an ICE facility, is that a medical facility? If the accusations we have made are untrue, he should be determined to come to Ghana to respond. That way, even the little image you have put on the line for him can be salvaged,” he added.
