Efia Odo has shared her thoughts on the ongoing debate about women and body enhancement, asserting that cosmetic surgery does little to solve deeper issues of self-esteem.
The Ghanaian socialite took to social media to encourage women to find self-affirmation from within, rather than turning to physical alterations to boost their self-worth.
In a post on X, she wrote: “Plastic surgery doesn’t fix insecurities. You must be self-validated within. Nothing outside of you can save you apart from being in Christ, because that’s your true self. Christ is not a religion; it’s one’s true self.”
Her statement adds to the growing conversation about the societal pressures leading people to consider cosmetic procedures, following similar remarks from actress Yvonne Nelson, who also criticized the pursuit of physical modifications as a sign of mental insecurity.
Yvonne warned young girls about the potential dangers of altering their bodies, pointing out that such changes often lead to an ongoing cycle of dissatisfaction: “Once you start altering one part of your body, you’ll want to change another. It never stops.”
