Former Minister for Education and Bosomtwe Member of Parliament, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reflect deeply on the future of both the party and the country as they prepare to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 presidential election.

Speaking during an interaction with party delegates ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, Dr Adutwum said the decision delegates make at this stage will shape the party’s fortunes long before the national polls.

He stressed that delegates have a unique opportunity to present a candidate who commands respect, restores dignity, and delivers meaningful transformation.

“The future of Ghana and the future of the party is in your hands before we talk about the presidential election,” he said.

“You have the chance to present somebody who brings respect, dignity and transformation to our party. You have the chance to present someone who will bring all parts together as flagbearer.”

Dr Adutwum, who is contesting the flagbearership, also reaffirmed his commitment to a campaign anchored in unity and respect.

He noted that he has avoided attacking fellow aspirants, stressing that internal cohesion will be critical as the NPP positions itself for victory in the next general election.
