Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has finally opened up about his decision to leave his Christian ministry and embrace traditional worship.
In 2023, Edochie launched a ministry alongside his partner, Judy Austin, which gained attention online.
However, by the beginning of 2024, Edochie made a surprising shift in his beliefs, turning to traditional worship instead.
Explaining the drastic change, the actor revealed that he was guided by what he describes as a divine voice, urging him to reconnect with his roots.
According to Edochie, while he was preaching, he felt an emptiness that could not be filled, which led him to question his path.
He shared that the voice told him, “Go home and know about your people.”
He explained that despite preaching about the people of Israel, he didn’t know enough about his own culture.
The voice directed him to learn the traditional ways of his ancestors, assuring him that these practices are “approved by God.” After returning home and embracing his cultural heritage, Edochie felt a sense of completeness.
His post has sparked mixed reactions, with some followers questioning his claims. One user asked how God’s voice sounded when he received the message, while others suggested that it might have been Judy, rather than God, who influenced his decision.
