The man accused of firing live rounds into a crowd during a fire outbreak in Madina has been released on bail by an Accra Circuit Court.

Mustapha Iddrisu Danlad, who allegedly pulled out a pump-action shotgun and shot indiscriminately while emergency crews fought a blaze at Redco Flats on August 3, 2025, is facing multiple criminal charges.

The court set bail at GH₵100,000, requiring three sureties, with one backed by a land title deed worth at least GH₵50,000. Danlad must also report to the Madina Police every Wednesday until the case concludes.

Prosecutors say six people were struck by pellets from the gunfire, forcing terrified residents to scatter. The wounded were rushed to nearby hospitals, with some later transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

After the shooting, Danlad allegedly went into hiding but was arrested on September 12, 2025, at Redco Flats. He has pleaded not guilty to charges including unauthorized discharge of firearms, unlawful possession of weapons, and three counts of causing harm.

The case has been adjourned to October 24, 2025, with prosecutors expected to submit their disclosures by October 23.
