  • Owusu Bempah predicted NPP would face its worst defeat under Bawumia’s flagbearership.
  • Adu Boahen dismissed the prophecy, blaming NPP’s past loss on Akufo-Addo’s government.
  • He accused Owusu Bempah of making inconsistent and self-serving prophecies.
  • Adu Boahen insists leadership in 2028 will ultimately be determined by God, not men.

A dramatic prophetic showdown is brewing within Ghana’s religious space after Prophet Johnson Adu Boahen of Christ Revival Baptist Church openly challenged Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah over his recent declaration about the 2028 elections.

Owusu Bempah had prophesied that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would face its most devastating defeat if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes the party’s presidential candidate.

He warned that such a decision could plunge the NPP into electoral embarrassment.

But Adu Boahen has dismissed the prophecy, insisting it is not grounded in divine revelation.

He argued that the NPP’s previous electoral struggles stemmed from public anger and frustration over Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration, rather than the actions of Dr. Bawumia.

The outspoken cleric went further, daring Owusu Bempah to a prophetic contest to determine whose words would truly manifest in 2028.

He stressed that if the NPP reconnects with ordinary Ghanaians and campaigns on practical solutions to their challenges, the party still stands a chance of winning.

Adu Boahen also questioned the consistency of Owusu Bempah’s messages, recalling past contradictions. He cited the preacher’s earlier claims that God had abandoned John Mahama, only to later predict Mahama’s victory.

Similarly, in 2012, Owusu Bempah had foretold Nana Akufo-Addo’s triumph, only to allege electoral fraud when the outcome did not match his prophecy.

For Adu Boahen, true leadership comes from God alone, regardless of religious or political identity. He maintained that 2028’s outcome will not be decided by prophets or politics, but by divine will.
