Businessman Cries Out After Allegedly Losing Millions to Investment Platform Pryme

A Lagos-based trader is demanding answers after claiming that a digital finance platform, Pryme, has failed to return ₦7 million of his funds months after multiple failed attempts to access his money.

The allegation was brought to light by a social media user, @Alaba589, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to expose what he described as a calculated fraud by the platform against the businessman, Mr. Emeka Joachim, a vendor at Tradefair.

According to the revelations, Pryme first reached out to Mr. Emeka in September 2023, pitching their services as a trustworthy financial solution. Convinced by their proposal, he began using their POS system for business transactions and invested over ₦8 million in total.

Problems started when Mr. Emeka tried to make a withdrawal but found his account inaccessible. Following pressure and threats of legal action, the platform reportedly sent ₦1.5 million—not to his registered account, but to a different one at Access Bank.

Despite that partial payment, Pryme reportedly introduced a new investment scheme in February 2024, promising quarterly returns. Mr. Emeka put in an additional ₦6 million, hoping to earn from the plan. However, the situation worsened as he was locked out of his account and denied access to his funds.

In a signed undertaking, Pryme allegedly committed to refunding the outstanding ₦7 million by September 29, 2024. As of now, the funds remain unpaid.

To support his claims, @Alaba589 shared screenshots of the written agreement, financial statements, and photos of the POS device issued by Pryme. He concluded his online call-out by urging the platform to return the money: “@MyPrymeApp pay him his money!”
