A Nigerian entrepreneur, Chukwura-Abunyie Ugochukwu, is reeling from what he describes as a betrayal by two of his workers who allegedly vanished after looting nearly ₦1.85 million from his business.
The shocking incident reportedly unfolded overnight, with the suspects—identified as Afolabi Samuel Oginni and Friday Adam—disappearing from their posts around 4 AM. Ugochukwu took to social media to share details of what he claims was a calculated hit on his business.
He broke down the losses, stating that ₦702,000 was allegedly siphoned via unauthorized POS transactions, ₦350,000 in physical cash was taken from daily sales, and drinks worth ₦800,000 were also carted away—bringing the total loss to nearly ₦1.85 million.
In his Facebook post, he published contact details and a photo of one of the individuals he believes to be involved. The suspects are said to have gone incommunicado, and their current whereabouts remain unknown.
The businessman is urging the public to assist with any useful leads, emphasizing that the duo’s sudden disappearance and the timing of the losses point to an inside job. As the matter gains attention online, some social media users are demanding police intervention, while others stress the need for stronger workplace trust controls in small businesses.
Authorities have not released an official statement yet, but the case has fueled fresh concerns over employee loyalty and business security.
