Two men are now in the grips of the law after police officers in Kete-Krachi uncovered a suspicious haul of suspected narcotics hidden inside a vehicle during a targeted operation.
The suspects, identified as 34-year-old John Dzeble and 24-year-old Adzobi Mesiwotso, were intercepted on Sunday, June 15, by the Anti-Robbery Unit of the Kete-Krachi Divisional Command. Their vehicle, an Opel Astra with registration GT 6430-13, was stopped during a police intelligence operation.
According to the Oti Regional Police Command, a detailed search of the car revealed a staggering 86 parcels of what is believed to be Indian hemp. The illicit packages had been ingeniously stashed within various concealed compartments, including the engine bay, doors, and trunk.
Officers also discovered tools typically linked to drug packaging—namely, a measuring scale and a roll of masking tape—tucked away alongside the substances.
The suspects have been detained and are cooperating with investigators as inquiries continue. Authorities say more developments may follow as they dig deeper into the source and destination of the shipment.
The police commended the officers involved for their swift and precise actions, reaffirming their commitment to fighting drug trafficking in the region.
