The father, Justus Wambua Kavyu, had experienced a painful loss two years earlier when one of his children died of cancer. Following that heartbreak, he retreated to his village to farm, while his wife, Tabitha Kathini Wambua, and their surviving daughter, Stacey Kiluti Wambua, moved to Saika.
Recently, Justus traveled to Saika to reunite with his family, only to find his wife and daughter lifeless in their home. The shock and grief proved too much for him, and he passed away shortly after the discovery.
