Court remands suspect for attempted murder and causing harm

The Berekum Circuit Court has remanded Emmanuel Yeboah into police custody on charges of attempted murder and causing harm, following a violent family dispute over a cashew farm. His Honour Mr Osei Kofi Amoako Esq. presided over the initial hearing.

Bono Regional Police arrested Yeboah on January 3, 2026, after receiving a report of the ambush. The suspect allegedly attacked his own brother and sister-in-law with a cutlass as they travelled to the contested farm, leaving both with multiple injuries stemming from a prolonged ownership disagreement.

Police retrieved the cutlass used in the assault as evidence from the scene. The two victims remain admitted at a local health facility where they are receiving medical attention

whiles Emmanuel Yeboah will reappear before the Berekum Circuit Court on January 12, 2026, for continuation of proceedings as investigations continue.
