In a press release signed by the children of Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh and the late musician, the family expressed deep concern over claims suggesting internal conflict between them and their mother, as well as insinuations that there are attempts to “arrest” her for speaking or writing on their behalf.

According to the children, these claims are entirely unfounded and do not reflect the reality of their family relationship.

“We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that our relationship with our mother is strong, loving, and respectful,” the statement said. “We speak with her every morning and every evening. The bond we share is one of trust, affection, and unity.”

The family described suggestions that they are at odds with their mother as not only false but deeply offensive, stressing that they would never turn against the woman who carried, nurtured, and continues to guide them.

The children also condemned allegations being directed at businessman Kenpong, who has been accused on social media of having ulterior motives simply because he has offered support to their mother and to them during what they described as a difficult period.

“These allegations are reckless, misleading, and deeply unfair,” the statement noted, adding that support offered to the family should not be twisted into negative narratives.

Reaffirming their position, the children stated emphatically that their loyalty remains firmly with their mother.

“Our loyalty is, and will always remain, with our mother. We stand with her fully—emotionally, morally, and unconditionally. Our bond is strong, genuine, and unbreakable,” they declared.

They further criticised what they described as the growing culture of fabricating rumours for attention, clicks, and social media engagement, warning that such behaviour is harmful not only to their family but also to the memory and legacy of their late father.

The statement also defended Daddy Lumba’s legacy, stressing that the celebrated musician “did no harm to Ghana,” but instead made an immense contribution to the country’s cultural heritage through his timeless Highlife music.

“It is deeply unfair that his family should now be subjected to distress and misinformation,” the children said.

The family concluded by urging the public and social media users to disregard the rumours and refrain from amplifying negativity, insisting that there is no conflict within the family.

“Our family is united. There is no conflict between us and our mother. Any claims to the contrary are deliberate falsehoods,” the statement ended.

The children reaffirmed that they stand “firmly, proudly, and permanently” with their mother, Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh.
