IShowSpeed (Darren Watkins Jr.), the popular American YouTuber and streamer, is currently on a major tour across Africa, dubbed something like “Speed Does Africa.” He’s been visiting numerous countries since late December 2025, live-streaming his experiences, interacting with massive crowds of fans, and immersing himself in local cultures, dances, wildlife encounters, and everyday vibes.
As of January 23, 2026, he’s already streamed from over 16 countries, including Morocco, Egypt, Kenya (where schools reportedly shut down due to fan crowds), South Africa (with amapiano dances and cheetah interactions), Rwanda and Ethiopia (emotional fan moments and record-breaking stream views over 280K), Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, Senegal (during AFCON), Nigeria (where he hit 50 million YouTube subscribers on his 21st birthday amid wild Lagos energy), and now Benin.
His streams are pulling in millions of views, going viral for showcasing Africa’s hospitality, modern cities, and “chaos energy,” while challenging stereotypes.
Planned stops include Ghana, Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Namibia, and more, so he’s not done yet—expect more content from those spots soon.
As he plans to make a stop in Ghana, multi-disciplinary Ghanaian artist Sosu Samuel, known for shattered glass art and pencil art , has also prepared a beautiful glass art ready to present to Speed, an art that could cost between $50k-250k worth of dollars.
