Thomas Partey plays for Villarreal

Ghanaian footballer Thomas Partey has faced another setback in his efforts to clear his name over rape allegations, as additional charges have reportedly emerged.

The fresh charges will be heard at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 3, 2026, giving the player a chance to respond to the charges and defend himself before the court will make a determination.

The new charges relate to a separate report of “non-recent offences” alleged to have occurred in 2020, with the report lodged in August 2025.

These new counts involve a different woman, bringing the total number of accusers to four, including the three who had previously reported him for different claims.

This specific report was submitted to the Metropolitan Police in August 2025, at a time when Partey had already been charged with five counts of rape.

It is worth noting that the upcoming hearing is separate from the initial five counts brought by the three women, which are scheduled to be heard in November 2026 as investigations continue.

The Villarreal midfielder was granted conditional bail by the court. One of the conditions is that he must not establish contact with any of the women who have accused him of rape until the case is resolved.

Additionally, the Black Stars midfielder is required to inform the police of his whereabouts if he changes his location or residential address.

The hearing on March 3, 2026, will determine whether he continues to enjoy bail or faces a dramatic twist in his footballing career.
