US-based Ghanaian gospel preacher and singer, Sonnie Badu, has advised individuals preparing to settle down.

In a video posted on Instagram on February 15, 2026, he urged women to choose men with vision before marriage.

According to him, a man without vision is likely to delay progress; therefore, women should ensure they marry men who have clear goals and direction in life.

‘Relationships are transactional, learn to put in the effort’ – Sonnie Badu tells couples

“As a woman, pray that you find a husband with vision, and be careful how you follow. If you find a husband without vision, pray that he discovers his vision. Because as long as you follow him, God will hear him. So if he doesn’t have a vision, then he is delaying your life.

“I was doing wedding marriage counseling, and I told the husband, ‘Sir, do you have a purpose and a vision? If you don’t have a purpose and a vision, don’t marry. Because your wife must live her dream within your purpose and your vision,” he said.

He further noted that women whose dreams do not align with the purpose of the man they are in a relationship with should consider looking for someone else.

According to Sonnie Badu, a woman can never lead in a relationship but can instead be the driving force behind a man’s dreams.

“And if you are a wife and your dreams are not in alignment with his purpose and vision, then you are not his wife, you are somebody else’s. Then please, don’t waste your time. You’re not his rib; you are somebody else’s rib. You met out of emotions.

“You must find yourself in his gift. Find your expression in it. As long as God remains God, a woman can never lead. I’m telling you, it is biblical. But a woman can be the brain behind the man as he leads,” he maintained.
