Ghana Armed Forces evacuates injured Ghanaian traders after terrorist attack in

The Ghana Armed Forces has successfully evacuated three Ghanaian traders who were injured in a recent terrorist attack in Burkina Faso, as part of the government’s coordinated humanitarian and security response.

In a press release dated February 18, 2026, and signed by Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the military said the evacuation was carried out by the Ghana Air Force on Tuesday, February 17.

“The Ghana Armed Forces has successfully evacuated three Ghanaian traders who were injured in a terrorist attack,” the statement said, adding that the operation formed part of broader efforts to support affected citizens.

According to the release, the traders were injured during an attack on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Burkina Faso, where several Ghanaian tomato traders were reportedly targeted by armed assailants.

Following the evacuation, the injured persons were transported to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further medical assessment and treatment.

“The injured have since been conveyed to the 37 Military Hospital for further medical assessment and treatment,” the statement noted.

The Armed Forces also expressed sympathy to families who lost relatives in the attack and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

“The Ghana Armed Forces extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, prays for the repose of the souls of the deceased and wishes the injured speedy recovery,” the release added.
