Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death

The Adawso Police Department in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region has launched an investigation into the death of 16-year-old Deborah Dede Ama, whose body was discovered in a stream at Tinkong Township.

According to reports, the deceased left her home on the evening of February 14 to attend a Valentine’s Day party in Tinkong while her mother was away.

Her family said she failed to return home, raising concerns among relatives. On Tuesday, her body was found in a stream near their home. Residents noted that it had begun to decompose by the time it was discovered.

The circumstances surrounding her death have raised suspicions that she may have been assaulted prior to being killed. Reports indicate that okra was found in her private parts.

Friends who accompanied her to the party claimed they left her at the venue.

The Adawso Police retrieved the body and transported it to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
